CIFEG
Mr. Bharana was one of the Board of
directors twice for CIFEG-International Centre of Films for Children and Youth and
has clear views about the future of children cinema.
He believes, amongst the 48 member
states of UNESCO, good amount of work has happened in improving of children and
youth media. World is coming together by
pooling ideas, new thoughts and trying to implement them and trying to create
awareness about the importance of children and youth media. Initiatives have been taken in South Africa,
Sweden, France etc. and same should happen in India. India has to be benefited
by creating nee platforms for likeminded people with ideas by taking the help
of other countries.
KARNATAKA
CHALANACHITRA ACADEMY
He was the first presiding of KCA (Karnataka
Chalanachitra Academy). He had the
responsibility of building it from the scratch and he nurtured KCA through
perfection. He was the festival director
for the first time ever International film festival in Bengaluru that made the
celluloid world turn its gaze on it. It
turned out to be a grand success featuring 180 films from 40 different
countries. He was the director for the
film festival in the successive year which outran the success of the first
one. They opened the doors for new age
filmmakers to experience the contemporary trends of world cinema. ʼBelli
Hejje’ was another imitative taken by Mr. Bharana where legends in all the
departments of cinema where invited to share their vision and experience. Their analysis with ups and down, victories
and defeats in the world of cinema were recorded and saved as guidelines for
the generations to come. He started a
fortnight magazine called ‘Belli Baraha’ to share new ideas and current affairs
of film industry. He also conducted a
lot of workshops on film making to create awareness among the youth about new
age film making and ‘Belli Mandala’ a film club in each districts for regular
screening and discussions about the films.
Some
of his visions and ideas include ‘Belli Nota’ – a statistical survey of film
viewers to decide the amount of film viewers, their likes and dislikes and
hence from a strategy to meet the needs of the viewers. ‘Belli Arivu’ – training people in developing
film analytical skills. ‘Belli Sakshi’ – organizing film festivals in
university level and then connecting them to KCA. “Belli Bimba” – workshops to
create awareness about the contemporary cinema.
“Belli Holahu’ – conducting research on the ideas that combines
literature and social responsibilities of a film and documenting them. ‘Belli
Balli’ – bringing uniformity among the film education organizations.
‘Bellisiri’ – Film museum. ‘Bellitere Bangarap library of all the accolade films. ‘Belli
Kshitija’ – building a sophisticated film city to meet the needs of film
industry. ‘Bellibharavase’ – providing
pension plan for film workers and many more.
He
was the chairman of Directors association and conducted regular workshops on
film direction and screen writing.
He
was the Executive committee member of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce for 2
terms. He contributed in organizing
solutions for the problems in the industry and problems of cine workers.
He
was the Chairman for the rolling frames short film summit. He is also the Chairman of ‘Sakshi’ short
film maker’s association.
Kannada Abhivruddhi Pradhikara (K.D.A) Kannada
Development Authority.
K.D.A. Kannada
Development Authority - Served as Chairman with cabinet minister ranking in
Govt. of Karnataka from 2019 to 2023.
Has initiated several polices and projects to develop Kannada language. Drafted a new bill Samagra Kannada Bhasa
Abhirudhi Vidyeyaka 2022 to ensure its implementation. The bill was passed at
the assembly by both the houses and approved by the Governor.
LIGHT AND SOUND First
time ever in Karnataka Mr.Nagabharana conducted permanent light and sound
programs about Mysore Palace, Kittur Palace, Hampi Edurubasava and Rameshwara
Temple and also in Srirangapattana. By
doing this he contributed in carving the strong sense of Karnataka’s cultural
heritage into people’s mind.
